JAY-Z & DIDDY BOYCOTT OK! MAGAZINE OVER MJ COVER?

OK! Magazine has sunk to a new low. OK Magazine paid $500000 for a cover “death photo” of Michael Jackson on a stretcher, as emergency personnel tried to revive the dying star, which has created quite a controversy amongst Michael Jackson fans, the pathetic magazine’s advertisers and the music community.ok magazine michael jackson cover picture

Jay-Z and Diddy among others have reportedly reacted to the OK! Magazine Michael Jackson cover which features the late singer being rushed to the hospital.

While Jay’s camp has yet to confirm, a rep for Diddy claimed the magazine’s decision has had an effect on their advertising relationship.

according to sources some staffers objected to owner Richard Desmond’s decision to put the ghoulish picture on this week’s cover — and it looks like advertisers and readers may agree. source’s say, “Media buyers have canceled upcoming meetings to discuss rates. It’s a disgrace. They’ve sunk to a new low.” In addition, diddy and Jay-Z are said to be so furious, “they’re organizing a boycott,” allegedly.

A rep for OK! said, “This is untrue. No one at OK! has been contacted about any such cancellations as a result of the magazine’s coverage of this news event. Any pages booked by the advertising team are running as scheduled.” Combs’ rep echoed, “Not true.” Jay-Z’s rep didn’t return calls. (New York Post)

While a tons of magazines paid tribute to Jackson, OK!’s poor choice has received negative feedback. Time Magazine rushed to press to put an elegant tribute out; Newsweek eloquently navigated the decision to send a Jackson cover to newsstands, and its planned book cover to subscribers; and People magazine did its usual pitch-perfect memorial. And then there is OK! magazine and the reprehensible decision to pay a reported $500,000 for the “last” picture of Jackson, which shows him lying on a stretcher, possibly already dead. (MSNBC)

OK!’s spokesperson Brian Strong responded to the publication’s negative feedback. “The cover represents an event in the history of an extremely entertaining and controversial figure,” he wrote in a statement, “and is sure to provoke some emotion and questions from readers and fans about the circumstances. The news often does.” (Statement)

While Jay-Z is reportedly planning a Jackson tribute, Diddy recorded the song “Better On The Other Side” with The Game and others which honored the singer’s legacy.

“People can say what they want about you,” Puff says. “We gonna remember the miracles you showed us, through your music, through your hands…You’re the one that made us all realize, we are the world. You were the one who showed us the moonwalk. You gave us the beat, you gave us the rhythm. You gave us the soul. Through us, your legacy lives on.” (“Better On The Other Side”)

No further information on Diddy and Jay’s alleged boycott of OK! has been released.

-So if jayz OR his camp havent even released a statement why is his name being thrown in the mix? we will keep you updated if this supposed jay-z, diddy ok! magazine beef goes left.
