Vivendi Entertainment has announced a September 15 release date for the highly anticipated documentary titled Big Pun: The Legacy. The documentary tells the life story of the Grammy nominated rapper, who died from a heart attack on February 7, 2000 due to obesity. The documentary uses unreleased concert footage, videos and interviews with rappers like Snoop Dogg, DMX, Jim Jones, Method Man, Xzibit and others to tell the story of Big Pun, born Christopher Rios. “I hope that the fans will get a chance to remember their idol while watching the film,” said director Vlad Yudin. “All those who are not entirely familiar with his story will get an opportunity to discover the legend.” A CD release is also planned featuring music from the film, which includes an unreleased track from Big Pun.
